SEO – search engine optimization – what in the heck is that? My website looks pretty, isn’t that enough? WRONG-O!

Search engine optimization is the behind the scenes, back end work. Just like in theater, there is a lot that goes on back stage. People mainly find your website through search engines when they type in something they are searching for your website matches a criteria. Each website has to be programmed with SEO so search engines can know what to show. If you don’t enter in to the drawing pool, how are you going to win? 

SEO takes time. Everything from when your website appears in searches, to what it will show to prospects, to the images it displays – everything! While there are many search engines such as Yahoo, Bing, and Duck Duck Go, the top dog professionals tackle is Google. Google essentially makes the rules on when and where your website will show up. The search engines have a similar algorithm, but if you don’t play by Google’s rules, you pretty much don’t play.
